Its name reflects the four pillars that shape its work: Innovation, Energy, Durability and Data Center. The Foundation works to connect these fields, recognising that the digital economy, energy systems and environmental stewardship are now deeply interdependent.

The Foundation seeks to support research, education, knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives that help technology serve the long-term interests of society and the environment.

Vision

The Foundation envisions a future in which digital technology and clean energy reinforce one another: where data centers and digital infrastructure run efficiently on renewable power, where artificial intelligence is trustworthy and used to accelerate climate solutions, and where people everywhere have the knowledge and skills to take part in this transition.

In this vision, innovation is measured not only by what it makes possible, but by how responsibly it uses resources and how widely its benefits are shared.

Values

  • Integrity

We act honestly and consistently, and we are clear about what we know, what we intend and what we have yet to achieve.

  • Rigour

We value sound evidence, careful analysis and methods that can be examined and reproduced by others.

  • Openness

We favour open knowledge, transparent communication and constructive dialogue with all those affected by our work.

  • Inclusion

We believe the benefits of innovation and the transition to sustainability should be accessible to all, regardless of background or location.

  • Stewardship

We take responsibility for the long-term consequences of technology for people, resources and the natural environment.
